DIRT RICHOGRAPHY

The Dirt Rich Band began in 2013 and has been growing and maturing ever since. In the spring of 2016 started the recording of what would eventually become their debut album "Cash Poor, Dirt Rich". The boys made several trips to Nashville to finish writing their second album "One More Round". May 31, 2019 marked their second full length album release date, gaining them notoriety and catching attention across the country. They co-wrote songs with Steve Mitchell and fellow Canadians Cole Bradley, and Darcy John. Recording once again with multiple CCMA award winning producer Bart Mckay. 2019 saw The Dirt Rich Band nominated in the top ten for “Fan’s Choice,” “Group/Duo,” “Video”(I Dreamt This Up), “Single”(Without Tryin’), and “Song of the year”(Without Tryin’) by the Alberta Country Music Association.

In March 2020 the guys decided to head to Nashville again. This time to work with producer Joel Breyure (The Drawing Room) on a set of songs written in part by Stuart Walker, Jonathan Singleton and Sam Ellis. The trip was unfortunately cut short to only 4 days due to concerns the Canada/United States border was closing. Through dedication and perseverance, the latest single "Cold Beer Problems" was created remotely while in quarantine. On March 15, "the day the music died" in Nashville saw the entire Broadway strip close. Thanks to fellow entertainer Donny Lee and his band, The Dirt Rich Band was invited up briefly to play on stage at both Jason Aldean's Roof Top Bar and Tootsies Orchid Lounge just hours before the music stopped. A memory/opportunity all the guys will surely never forget!

Over the years they have had the privilege of sharing the stage with Brett Kissel, Gord Bamford, Aaron Pritchett, Aaron Lines, George Canyon, as well as Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw and Collin Raye. Recently they caught attention from Grammy award winning producer Wyclef Jean.  He mentored the boys and praised the works of their single “Without Tryin” saying “You have a fan down south” and “That song is going on my playlist!”

Watch for the boys in your area as they tour with new music, new videos, and a new show!

Dallas Schira- Vocals - Music has always been a part of my life. I love how music tells a story, a story you can feel. I love playing in a band because it allows me to tell my own story/version of the song through my vocals.  My favourite moment was the feeling that came over me when I first saw someone in the crowd singing a song we wrote, word for word, along with me! That’s something I'll never forget!

Landon Franson - Guitar & Vocals - Music seems to be the one place where everything makes sense.  I would assume it's like the high an addict gets…  taking me to new heights.  It’s impossible to choose a favourite moment!  I cherish every moment I've had in this band and all the people we have met along the way!

Erik Keichinger- Drums - I remember when I was around 5 years old… my Dad was playing the piano in our living room. I had a tiny keyboard that I'm sure I annoyed everyone with! I hit random keys until all of a sudden I hit one key at the right time that was a match. I have been hooked ever since trying to repeat the music I hear. Now I love getting the chance to create my own music.  I feel fortunate that I get to experience the joys of putting a perfect combination of notes together in unison with a talented group of musicians.

Fuzzy Kennedy - Bass - I grew up listening to country music.  My father was in a band all his life.  Music is the universal language and you can't have a party with out music!  My favourite show was opening for Gord Bamford!

Sam Derbawka - Mandolin, Fiddle, Banjo, & Vocals - Sam Derbawka has been playing music as long as he can remember.  He has played in many bands from bluegrass with his siblings in Redburry Grass to SCMA winning group Aces Wyld.  Sam is the recipient of the 2019 SCMA Specialty Instrument Player of the year!
